Chief Engineer - Monticello Media

Monticello Media Charlottesville  seeks a talented and energetic individual to serve as Chief Engineer for our 5 radio stations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following: 
o Maintain integrity of on-air product for 100% reliability 24/7
o Ability to inspect, repair, and maintain all broadcast radio station equipment, including FM, HD and AM transmitters, antennas, satellite down/up-links, automation system, studio equipment, remote equipment, generators, telephone system and other related equipment
o Set up and maintenance of broadcast remote equipment
o Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed

Qualifications
o Minimum 5 years broadcast engineering experience
o Hands-on FM, HD and AM transmitter experience
o Availability to work various hours / days, including some weekends and holidays
o Ability to provide on-call status  to provide 24x7 on-call, on-site service for studio and transmitter locations in case of equipment failure
o Knowledge of FCC Rules and Regulation
o Strong proven time management skills including ability to multi-task in a multiple project environment
o Experience in project planning, management and execution
o IT & Network knowledge and experience
o Strong PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,)
o Experience with Computer based audio storage system, Next Gen preferred
o Experience with digital audio and audio streaming
o Experience in broadcast facilities, electronics, high powered FM and directional AM
o Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronics at the component level
o Familiarity with high voltage, generators, satellite downlink facilities and receivers
o Good understanding of IT and Networking
o Must have a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle
o FCC General Class License or SBE Certifications are a plus
